SUMMARY:Bites95 - Male & Female Tournament (New)
DESCRIPTION:La Crosse\, Wisconsin – Pool 8 \nSpinnerbaits on the River \nThe Bites “95” bass fishing tournament series has released its schedule and rules for 2024. The schedule is the last to come out every year so that the dates can be worked around all the other events up and down the river. Here are the details of the changes made to the Bites “95” format for 2024: \n\nThe Open Events will not be held for 2024 due to lack of participation. The sentiment from the anglers was that they did not want to fish other pools\, the purse was too small due to the amount of boats and the amount of other tournaments the anglers were involved in.\nTwo new events have been added: a Couples Male Female Event and a Singles Event. Both of these events may be used to qualify for the end year event. No membership fee is required for these two events.\nIt will no longer take 5 events to qualify for the end year event. That number of 5 has been reduced to 4 events.\nThe end year event is no longer called a “Championship”. The year-end event will be similar to the Super BFL in the fall. It will be a two-day event with a cut to the top 10 boats for day two. All the weights from day 1 will be erased and the top 10 boats will start at 0 for day 2. The top 3 boats of day 1 will have a payout. The rest of the purse will be transferred to day 2. $10 from each entry fee from earlier events will be held back for the year-end event tournament purse. At this time\, there is an attempt to gather a couple of $500 sponsors for that event to add dollars to the total purse.\nThe entry fees for the events are as follows:\n\nRegular Team Events: $200\nCouple Male Female and Singles: $150.00\nEnd Year Two Day: $300\n\n\n\nHere are the dates for the 2024 Bites “95” schedule: \n\n\n\nEvent\nDate\nLocation\nTime\n\n\n\n\nBites #1\nMay 12th\, 2024\nClinton Street Team Tournament\n7-8-9\n\n\nBites #2\nJune 2nd\, 2024\nClinton Street Team Tournament\n7-8-9\n\n\nBites #3\nJune 30th\, 2024\nClinton Street Team Tournament\n7-8-9\n\n\nCouples Male Female (NEW)\nJuly 28th\, 2024\nClinton Street\n7-8-9\n\n\nSingles (NEW)\nAugust 4th\, 2024\nClinton Street\n7-8-9\n\n\n\nPlease note that the Couples Male Female and Singles events may be used to qualify for the end year event\, and no membership fee is required for these two events. SUMMARY:Cabela's 10K - Prairie du Chien - Prairie du Chien
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready for some bass fishing action? If so\, don’t miss the B.A.S.S. and Cabelas sponsored 10K bass tournament out of Prairie du Chien\, Wisconsin. This is your chance to compete with some of the best bass anglers in the region and win a huge $10\,000 prize. The tournament will be held on August 10\, 2024\, on the mighty Mississippi River. You will have to choose which pools of the river to fish\, each with its own challenges and opportunities. \nThe first pool is a smallmouth bass paradise\, where you can catch big bronzebacks in the current. You will need to use finesse techniques\, such as drop-shotting\, shaky heads\, and Ned rigs\, to entice the wary fish. The smallmouths are feeding on shad and crayfish\, and they can put up a great fight on light tackle. The second pool is a largemouth bass haven\, where you can find green fish in the thick vegetation and wood cover. You will need to use power fishing methods\, such as top water fishing\, flipping\, pitching\, swim jigs and spinnerbait fishing\, to trigger the aggressive fish. The largemouths are hiding in the shade\, and they can surprise you with their explosive strikes. \nThe tournament is open to all anglers\, and you can register online.  The winner will take home the $10\,000 prize\, as well as a trophy and a spot in the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship. The tournament is a great opportunity to showcase your skills\, have fun\, and support the sport of bass fishing. Don’t miss this chance to fish on one of the best bass fisheries in the country. Register now and get ready for the B.A.S.S. and Cabelas 10K bass tournament. It’s going to be a blast!

SUMMARY:Cedar Rapids Bassmasters - Lansing
DESCRIPTION:July Bass Fishing on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River out of Lansing\, Iowa\nJuly is an exciting time for bass fishing on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River\, located near Lansing\, Iowa. The hot summer months bring unique challenges and opportunities for anglers looking to catch both largemouth and smallmouth bass. One of the most effective techniques during this time is fishing with topwater baits\, such as hollow-bodied frogs\, plastic frogs\, Pop R baits\, and Zara Spooks. These baits often prove to be the winning choice for landing big bass. \nChallenges of Summer Bass Fishing\nFishing in the hot summer months can be challenging due to the high temperatures and increased activity on the water. Bass tend to seek cooler\, deeper waters during the heat of the day\, making them harder to locate. However\, early mornings and late evenings can be prime times for bass fishing\, as the fish are more likely to be in shallower waters and actively feeding. \nTopwater Baits for Big Bass\nTopwater baits are particularly effective during the summer months\, as they mimic the natural prey of bass and create an enticing surface disturbance that can trigger aggressive strikes. Here are some topwater baits that are often successful in Pool 9: \n\nHollow-Bodied Frogs: These baits are designed to mimic the appearance and movement of a frog\, making them ideal for fishing in areas with heavy vegetation. The hollow body allows the bait to float on the surface\, while the weedless design helps prevent snagging.\nPlastic Frogs: Similar to hollow-bodied frogs\, plastic frogs are effective in weedy areas and can be worked slowly across the surface to entice strikes. Their lifelike appearance and movement make them a favorite among anglers.\nPop R Baits: These baits create a popping sound and splash when retrieved\, mimicking the movement of a struggling baitfish. The noise and surface disturbance can attract bass from a distance\, making them an excellent choice for open water and along the edges of vegetation.\nZara Spooks: Known for their “walk-the-dog” action\, Zara Spooks are topwater baits that zigzag across the surface when retrieved. This erratic movement can trigger aggressive strikes from bass\, especially in open water and along structure.\nSPRO’s Flapping Frog has recently taken the river by storm and has produced many bags over 20 pounds.\n\nRewards of Summer Bass Fishing\nDespite the challenges\, summer bass fishing on Pool 9 can be incredibly rewarding. The river’s diverse habitat provides ample opportunities for anglers to catch both largemouth and smallmouth bass. The thrill of seeing a big bass explode on a topwater bait is an experience that many anglers cherish. \nAdditionally\, the scenic beauty of Pool 9 and the surrounding area adds to the overall enjoyment of the fishing experience. The river’s winding channels\, lush vegetation\, and abundant wildlife create a picturesque backdrop for a day on the water. \nConclusion\nJuly bass fishing on Pool 9 of the Mississippi River out of Lansing\, Iowa\, offers a unique and exciting challenge for anglers. By using topwater baits like hollow-bodied frogs\, plastic frogs\, Pop R baits\, and Zara Spooks\, anglers can increase their chances of landing big bass. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a newcomer to the sport\, the rewards of summer bass fishing on Pool 9 are well worth the effort.

SUMMARY:No Nonsense Prairie Bass - Prairie Du Chien - Qualifier #1
DESCRIPTION:🎣 No Nonsense Prairie Bass Series – 2026 Season Overview\nThe No Nonsense Prairie Bass Series (NNPBS) out of Prairie du Chien\, Wisconsin\, has earned its reputation as one of the most competitive and rewarding team bass tournaments on the Upper Mississippi River. \nEach event launches from the Washington Street ramp on St. Feriole Island\, and all competition takes place within Pool 10 — locking through the dams is not permitted. This keeps the playing field level and the focus on pure angling skill. \nTeams consist of two anglers — a boater (angler) and a non-boater (co-angler) — who compete across five qualifying tournaments\, a Wildcard event\, and the season-ending Classic Championship. \nWith average event participation of 80 to 85 boats\, this series is both fiercely competitive and incredibly rewarding. \n\n🏁 The Qualifiers: Five Stages of Competition\nQualifier 1: Early Spring – The Pre-Spawn Showdown\nThe season begins as ice-out gives way to the pre-spawn bite. Bass stage on channel edges\, rock points\, and current breaks\, waiting for that first warm front to trigger movement. Conditions change fast — clarity\, current\, and temperature can all shift within hours. \nThe anglers who adjust quickly and find stable water often set the tone for the year. Early victories can also automatically qualify a team for the Classic Championship. \nQualifier 2: Late Spring – Post-Spawn Precision\nBy late spring\, bass are recovering from the spawn and feeding aggressively again. The second event rewards anglers who can target shallow grass\, flooded timber\, and current seams. \nFluctuating water levels keep competitors on their toes\, but the payoff can be huge — and again\, any qualifier winner earns a guaranteed spot in the Classic. \nQualifier 3: Early Summer – Current and Confidence\nWhen the river stabilizes in early summer\, current breaks\, wing dams\, and riprap become prime targets. The smallmouth bite can be explosive\, and topwater baits start to dominate. \nConsistency and smart patterning are key to staying high in the points race. Every ounce counts as the leaderboard tightens. \nQualifier 4: Midsummer – Heat and Hustle\nLong days and hot temps push fish deeper\, testing both skill and endurance. Grass edges\, deep current seams\, and shade lines become critical zones. \nAnglers often rely on finesse tactics or Carolina rigs to coax bites from pressured fish. The AOY race intensifies — and every decision matters. \nQualifier 5: Late Summer to Early Fall – The Make-or-Break\nThe final qualifier often decides who secures a Classic spot — and who heads to the Wildcard. As fish follow shad and transition toward fall patterns\, conditions can change daily. \nTopwater bites return\, weights climb\, and pressure is sky-high. One big kicker can make the season. \n🎯 The Wildcard: One Last Shot at the Classic\nDidn’t make the Top 20 in the overall standings? The Wildcard Event is your second chance. \nAny team that fished all five qualifiers can enter this one-day shootout for $100 per boat\, and the top five teams advance to the Classic Championship. \nIt’s all on the line — one big fish or one clutch decision could turn a long season into a shot at the big money. \n🏆 The Classic Championship\nThe NNPBS Classic is the grand finale — a two-day\, no-entry-fee championship featuring the Top 20 teams from the AOY standings plus the five Wildcard qualifiers. \nHeld exclusively on Pool 10\, this event crowns the best of the best. With two full days to perform under pressure\, teamwork\, precision\, and local knowledge make all the difference. \n💰 Big Payouts and Huge Opportunities\nThe Classic’s first-place prize regularly exceeds $7\,000\, and total winnings can soar much higher thanks to side pots and contingency awards. \nThe 2026 season marks an exciting milestone — the NNPBS Classic is now an officially approved White River Contingency Awards Tournament. \nThat means anglers fishing from Nitro Boats\, Ranger Boats\, or Triton Boats who are enrolled in their manufacturers’ contingency programs can earn up to an additional $8\,000 for a Classic win. \nCombined with the series’ existing prize structure\, a championship-winning team could walk away with as much as $16\,000 — all from a no-entry-fee tournament. \n\n🏅 Why Anglers Love NNPBS\nNo entry fee for the Classic Championship \nTop-tier payouts with cash\, side pots\, and manufacturer bonuses \n80–85 boats per event for serious\, high-level competition \nSame Pool format — all fishing within Pool 10\, no locking through \nTrue teamwork between boater and co-angler in every event \nFair\, consistent structure that rewards dedication and skill \nNo Nonsense means just go fish fairly and leave the drama out of it \nIt’s easy to see why so many anglers consider NNPBS the premier tournament series on the Upper Mississippi River. \n\n🙌 Acknowledgements\nA huge thank-you to Dustin Collins\, Cabela’s\, and Bass Pro Shops for helping secure these contingency opportunities.
