Bass Fishing Brushy Creek

Local ramp, dock and facilities information

Brushy Creek is a deep reservoir with timber everywhere. The north end has a major creek channel and the south end is home to the spillway.  Between these two popular destination is a lumber yard full of structure and depth.

While the time of year certainly helps dictate what technique you’ll use, many fish the timber with plastics and patience.

Power fisherman will crank the timber and grass lines as well as a few harder to find rocky slopes.  Top water fishing is excellent once the water temps reach the mid to upper 60’s but bring braid as Musky are lurking.

Don’t be shocked to see walleye fisherman hovering over your favorite timber.  The glass eyed tasty delights are plentiful in Brushy Creek and often share similar structure to the largemouth bass.

The south ramp is where tournaments launch from so be ready to drive over the spillway if coming from the west.

Brushy Creek is known for bags pushing the 20 pound mark.  However, there are many days you may need that spinning gear to bring in your limit.

A fun lake that can be fished many different ways, has humbled many an angler but they always come back for more.

Brushy Creek is also one of the toughest permits to get so if you’re planning on holding a tournament here you’d better be quick about applying for that permit.
