Lake Darling is a fairly shallow lake with some rocky shores and a rock structured island to fish.  Again, be careful as some of the flats around the rocks can be tricky to navigate.  The lake is NO WAKE so your trolling motor prop is likely most at risk.

The surrounding park is very nice and has plenty to offer shoreline fisherman and their families.

From the boat we’ve had most luck on the west side of the lake and northern edges hold nice vegetation.  Senko’s in the summer are an excellent choice.  Neko rigs, if you’re into that style of fishing can produce big numbers in the right weather.

While power fishing can produce nice fish too, the lake isn’t very big so you’ll go around this lake pretty fast with fast moving baits.

Try black buzz baits early, even during the spawn, to get the rare bass over 4 pounds here.  Zara spooks and the like are tempting but you’ll need to beat the weeds to get away with that.

As always a nice flipping jig is a great choice as you can cover the structure with patience here for big rewards.  Green pumpkin, black and blue and brown and gold are all great choices.
