You will have to choose which pools of the river to fish, each with its own challenges and opportunities.

The first pool is a smallmouth bass paradise, where you can catch big bronzebacks in the current. You will need to use finesse techniques, such as drop-shotting, shaky heads, and Ned rigs, to entice the wary fish. The smallmouths are feeding on shad and crayfish, and they can put up a great fight on light tackle. The second pool is a largemouth bass haven, where you can find green fish in the thick vegetation and wood cover. You will need to use power fishing methods, such as top water fishing, flipping, pitching, swim jigs and spinnerbait fishing, to trigger the aggressive fish. The largemouths are hiding in the shade, and they can surprise you with their explosive strikes.
