The bigger the number you pick, the more important a BIG check is. A 10 means only the top few spots should pay and those are some big checks! A 1 means you'd like to see more spots get paid a little something but it does reduce the size of the winning check for the top teams.

A 10 here means a proven violation of any kind gets the hammer dropped on them. While a 1 here says "maybe that's a little harsh for a no wake violation" even though the rules state a witness and you'll be DQ'ed. How important is having a strict tournament director or committee to you? Strict = 10 and More Forgiving = 1.

If you don't mind the membership dues, love them, select a 10. If you think they are total BS select a 1. Keep in mind membership dues can help the payout, sponsors, weigh in equipment or prizes. They also help prevent guys cherry picking tournaments because they have to pay dues and entry. On the other hand, isn't my entry free enough? Why should I have to pay more?

When you fish you want to fish against the best around and see how you stack up. If so select 10, because it doesn't bother you, you love it. OR, you're tired of seeing the same guy or team win every event and it's getting old, select 1. Often the best events have some of the best anglers and the boat count can be high. Do you like fishing events with over 25 boats?

You spent $150 just to fish, $125 on fuel, $150 on hotel and even more on food and drink. At almost $500 to fish my results should be fast and easy to read and figure out. If quick and accurate results and standing matter select 10. If you're not that concerned and don't really mind if they even get posted, select 1.

We all want the winning check but lets face it, we can't win them all. Headed home with a little something is nice; but next time I'm after that check! If you like the sponsor or donated prized big time, select 10. If you're not into that stuff at all and probably just give it away, select 1.

That team had 21.49 pounds and got a check for over $1,200! Part of that was your entry fee and wouldn't it be nice for the winners to share a little something, strategy, bait selection or technique with the rest of us? If you think a check should require that, select 10. OR if you say "Heck no, they paid to fish and take their chances too, they don't owe anyone a conversation! If you feel this way select 1.
